Colin Mudd
Born and raised in Colorado, Colin Mudd’s cannabis journey began in Ft. Collins back in 2009. For the first five years of his career, he managed some of Colorado’s most prominent dispensaries, transitioning in 2014 to a role with a top edible brand, incredibles. Over the next eight years, Colin established and led the compliance department, overseeing various critical functions at facilities in the Denver metro area. His final role as National Compliance Director included managing compliance for incredibles in 7 states, pre-acquisition by GTI. He’s seen firsthand what it takes to have a successful exit in this space having seen more companies and brands fail than succeed. Since 2018, he has been an approved Responsible Vendor Training provider in Colorado and Illinois, offering state-approved compliance training to dispensary staff.
With over 12 years of experience in licensed retail, cultivation, and manufacturing facilities, Colin possesses a unique and trusted perspective, specializing in compliance and training. He has assisted clients nationwide in ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations, standard operating procedures, and training programs, allowing operators to focus on their core business goals and putting them in a place to expand to other markets or prepare for acquisition.
Colin’s dedication to the industry extends to his work with SterileGrow, providing a solution to one of the cannabis industry’s biggest problems: microbial contamination. Collectively, over the past 15 years, he has actively advocated for sensible cannabis regulations, testifying before committees and contributing to rulemaking workgroups in Colorado, Oregon, and Nevada. Recognizing the significant impact negative regulations can have on a market’s success, he remains committed to furthering the industry’s progress in state and local jurisdictions throughout the country. Colin also volunteers his time to consult with Colorado Social Equity (SE) applicants and operators, educate local governments on fostering SE entrepreneurship opportunities, and provide free training to SE operators.
